Welcome to the True Grit Podcast, where we talk about life.  You know, all the things we go through that make us who we are. Grief, regret, illness, and trauma plague all of us, but somehow we are able to overcome those things and find a way to live a happy, thriving life. 


I’m your host, Mrs. Emily, and I’m here to share my story of how I found my true grit after the loss of my first husband to a heart attack and a few years later, my health to COVID-19. Losing Greg shattered my world. Losing my health broke my spirit as much as my body. It has taken me a long time to learn how to really live again. In fact, I’m still in the middle of gaining my health back. Through these two life-changing experiences I have met a lot of people struggling just like me. Today, I am ready to share our stories in the hopes that it will help someone else find that grit inside of themselves, too. 


In this weekly podcast, we will journey deep into the world of loss and share practical advice for how to overcome grief, illness, obesity, heartache, and pain. I will introduce you to my friends, family, and various other people who are willing to share their stories of how they overcame those tough times as well. The focus of this podcast isn't about the losses, but how we all have to dig deep and find that grit inside us that says, "You got this!".
